The Mons Telescope

The 0.5 m Mons Telescope is a Newtonian/Cassegrain reflector located at the Izaña Observatory in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). This instrument belongs to the Mons University, Belgium. The imaging equipment includes a ST-8 CCD camera. This camera uses a Texas Instruments chip with a resolution of 1020 by 1530 pixels.

The telescope's dome must be closed if the wind speed is higher than 35 km/h or the relative humidity is higher than 75%.
